Took a 9 day cruise to the Southern Caribbean in early January to get away from the cold Ohio weather and glad we did. First time on the Navigator but we had sailed on the Adventure so we already were familiar with the layout.

Flew to Miami a day early so we weren't as rushed and just in case the weather was bad. Deicing in Cincinnati caused us to miss our connecting flight but we received another one quickly so we arrived in Miami only an hour or two later than scheduled. Hotel in Miami said they had no record of us having a reservation though our TA had confirmed it before we left. A quick call to her resulted in a booking at the Miami Airport Wingate hotel which proved to be a good alternative. Not only did they pick us up at the airport, we got a great room with breakfast included and a shuttle for $12 each person to the ship the next morning, which was about a 20 minute ride.

Embarkation we very well. From the time the shuttle dropped us off to the time we were actually on board was no more than 1/2 hour. We arrived about 11am so it may have helped that a lot of people had not yet arrived.

Port Reviews

Curacao

We booked an excursion on our own and not through Royal. We arranged with a company called Scubaco for snokeling for the day....would highly recemmend them!

Bonaire

Rented a golf cart for the day. We got to see the island at our own pace and stop when & where we wanted. A great way to see the island. Would definetly do it again!
