This was the 1st cruise I've ever been on. My girlfriend is a seasoned cruiser. We chose this cruise mainly based on price and duration as I've been prone to sea-sickness on smaller vessels and didn't want to be stuck out at sea for a week while ill. We disembarked from Miami and everything went relatively smoothly. Unfortunately, this was just about the ONLY thing that went as planned, but more on that later.
I'm by no means an expert on the condition of ships, however, this ship felt a bit dated right from the beginning. It's relatively narrow for a cruise ship and according to my girlfriend, we could feel the motion of the ocean a bit more than other cruises she's been on. I took Bonine and wore the sea-bands which worked great by the way!
Our first evening/night, we had the buffet and sat down at the Palace Main Dining room for dinner. The food was average at best, but edible. The service was lacking and it appeared most of the waiting staff was overwhelmed with tables. We were able to enjoy the Casino which had the best service on the ship quite frankly. We also visited Dazzles Nightclub but were disappointed in the tiny dance floor. All in all, not a bad day but only average considering my expectations.
The cabin was quaint and the service was actually good. One of the only good things about the cruise.
