Wanted a quick getaway. This five night cruise was perfect. Independence is going into refurb in April but wasn't showing any sign of age. The shows were great especially Grease and Ice Show. Food was wonderful in the main dining room and Sorrentos, we used the dining room for most breakfasts and lunches during sea days. Embarkation was quick and easy, onboard within 15 minutes. Walked off ship at 8:00, in taxi at 8:20, at airport 9:00. My time dining, asked for a table for 4 by a window as we were traveling with another couple. Request granted and we had the best waiter and assistant waiter in Fnu and Erin. Our wish was their command. They made our dining experience fun. We highly recommend asking for them if you are on this ship and choose my time dining. Solarium pool was nicely maintained. Not all the bells and whistles of the newest ships but not the crowds either.

Port Reviews

Costa Maya

Walked around the port and had a nice lunch at Taste of Mexico. Guacamole and salsa was amazing.

Cozumel

Took a taxi to Pancho's Backyard for lunch. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and margaritas
