Flight from Gatwick to Barbados was good, no delays and flight took approx 8 hours. I felt like every time I fell asleep I was woken up with food. Cannot complain about the flight or the stewards/stewardesses.
The ship is another matter, it lacked atmosphere throughout the ship but I suppose it all depends on what you are looking for. I personally have never been so bored before on a cruise before. The food was awful to say the least. Cold no matter what time of day you arrived. Steak was like boot leather and lacked taste. The Epicurian was an absolute waste of money and not the experience they claim that you will have.. totally disappointing. The buffet restaurant seemed to be Indian curry and or a roast dinner every day and night and lacked choice. The MDR food was rubbish, Luke warm and steak tough as anything.. little choice for desserts unless you like ice cream....
The main pool deck felt more like Butlins on steroids with childish party games, certainly not what one would expect after paying over £3000 for two people for one week. I am glad we only booked for one week or I think we would have had to seriously look at paying extra for an early flight home.. talking of entertainment, the Crystal lounge on deck 7 seemed to have ball room dancing all the time.. ok if you like that kind of thing, but not for us unfortunately.
Bathroom was very small and stunk all the time of urine, although this was cleaned daily the smell never went away. The balcony was way too small with the chairs only just fitting on it so could not relax at all. Bed was like sleeping on the floor, very hard and very uncomfortable
Aruba was again a lovely Country with friendly locals.. not much to do but relax and take a stroll
Beautiful island however this is where we disembarked. The journey to the airport was quite a scary experience sat in a very old bus which struggled to get up the many hills. Journey to the airport took approx 1 hr 20 mins. Locals where overtaking on blind bends which in itself was an eye opener..
