  3. Crown Princess
We've sailed with Princess once before and decided to try it again after sailing Carnival and Holland. I prefer the service on Princess. The staff always are truly friendly, helpful and we don't get the up-selling we've experienced on other lines. The Crown Princess is showing her age, and is scheduled for a refurbishment in March, I think. The beds were comfortable, but sagging. The entertainment was good and the house band "Static" was terrific. Whatever we requested we got in a timely manner. Really, no complaints--except the WiFi is very slow during peak periods and the Princess@Sea app that they use for messengering is useless. On Princess when you buy the soda package it includes mocktails; a nice plus. In Antigua we rented a taxi at the dock. He took us to the Nelson Shipyards, Shirley Heights and then we spent a few hours at Long Beach we paid him $35/person plus tip (there were 4 of us) and stayed with us the whole day (we had to pay our admission to the dockyards also). In St Maarten we just rented the beach chairs at Great Bay by the dock 10$ for a chair and umbrella and 10$ for a bucket of ice and 5 beers/soda. The people in St. Maarten and St Thomas were really hit hard by the hurricane and are very appreciative of the tourism dollars. We bought the ship excursion for St. Johns/Trunk Bay Snorkel trip. A good value. We caught the Island Girl ferry at the dock and took the 45 min ride to St. Johns. The Island Girl crew are great and the guide told us some great history and commentary that made it an entertaining trip. We then rode in an open air taxi to Trunk Bay where snorkel equipment was provided. The snorkeling was close in and easy to navigate, but as far as fish and coral -- well, I've seen better. The beach is just gorgeous and a really breathtaking venue. In the Dominican Republic we took a taxi from Amber Cove and did the Damayagua Waterfalls. That's quite an adventure and really fun; but strenuous. Loved the cruise-and I would recommend it highly.

Eastern Caribbean, with good ports of call

Cabin Review

Oceanview
Cabin OF P248
Smaller and nothing fancy. Not much storage and only one outlet in the cabin and one in the bathroom. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Lots of hangers in a large closet.
Plaza Deck Inside Cabins, Outside Cabins
