I just returned yesterday from a wonderful 10 night Caribbean cruise aboard the beautiful Celebrity Equinox; with it currently being a frigid 11 degrees Fahrenheit here in Chicago I am already counting the days until I return to Equinox next October!

A little about me. This was my 7th cruise, 2nd on Celebrity (with the first being a transatlantic on Century last year). Most of my other cruises have been with Royal Caribbean aside from Holland America for Alaska. I was traveling with my wife and we are both in our thirties (I even turned 39 in Barbados)! We were booked in Aqua Class stateroom #1608.

Pre-Cruise: We flew down to Ft. Lauderdale one day early and stayed at the Renaissance Hotel (I wound up getting a great deal via Priceline $84 for the night). While the hotel did not quite seem to live up to it's four star rating, it was more than adequate (especially at that price point) and was in a great location - plenty of restaurants in walking distance. We had a great pre-cruise dinner at Taza (Mediterranean food) and called it an early night. Of note we purchased our wine to bring aboard at a nearby store called Crown Wine & Spirits which I highly recommend avoiding - two of the three bottles we purchased were bad (maybe it was bad karma for bringing on board one bottle more than we were entitled).

Cabin Review

Cabin AQ

Great location; fairly close to stairs and elevator.Stateroom is located near large suites and the same steward in charge of Penthouse suite took care of ours. Balcony almost double size of non-hump stateroom (but adjacent balconies - rooms 1606 and 1610 are even larger). Bed is located by balcony. Great bathroom storage but stateroom closet and storage areas a bit small. Occasional noise heard from pool deck above, but infrequent and not terribly loud. Balcony is on forward side of hump. Good privacy on balcony; all of balcony is covered. No signs or wear or tear in the stateroom.
