My husband and I had first sailed with Viking on the Grand European river cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam in June 2015. We were so impressed with the ship and the staff that we decided to book the Empires of the Mediterranean ocean cruise on the Viking Sea for March 2016.

We had previously cruised with Carnival and Princess and smaller cruises in Maine and in China. All I can say is WOW!!! The Viking company and the Viking Sea experience is second to none.

The ship is absolutely gorgeous! Every area was perfect in design and décor. The Explorers Lounge was both stunning and warm and inviting. I loved the Viking museum with the artifacts and history. I read every word and examined every object during several visits. On a practical note, I very much appreciated the onboard self service laundry and used it several times during the cruise. The ability to be able to quickly wash a few things without lugging around laundry supplies or having to send the laundry out is a thoughtful service that Viking provides. Read more
