  3. Viking Sea
If you've taken a River Cruise with Viking, this ocean cruise is very similar except with a few more added features similar to other ocean cruise lines. In addition to the main dining room, which has any time dining, there is the cafe with buffet style servings, as well as 2 specialty dining options(Italian and Chef's Table, which is more for foodies and wine enthusiasts IMO). Entertainment was great, but that is due to the amazing talent of the singers. They did have one cultural performance which was nice. Every day there was a Port Talk on the next day's stop, but it had very brief historical commentary and more about the sights to see and the excursions. I think I would have liked to have heard more historical background on the countries. What was nice was that if you didn't attend the lectures you can always watch it later on the TV in your staterooms. There were also various free movies to watch on the stateroom TVs. There aren't really any other activities on board except for the nightly shows, but you are at port most of the day anyway. They do have various public spaces with musicians playing. Like Viking River Cruises, the port tours are all included, usually only a couple of hours long, unless you choose one of the other excursions for a fee, . Most of the main parts of town in each port was close to the ship except for the Greece ports and Dubrovnik, which required shuttles(free) or tender(Santorini). The tour guides were locals and well-knowledged in the history and current culture of the town and their country.
