This was a new itinerary for us. We had sailed on Viking river and wanted to try their ocean voyages. We were not disappointed. Spent a few days in Bath (Cotswolds) and London before the cruise. Embarkation went very smoothly - really enjoyed Greenwich. Our private transfer was in an accident and neglected to calll us - quickly remedied by the staff at St. Ermin’s Hotel. We had an overnight in Greenwich - very accommodating for those arriving by air. Took the free ship tour of London on Sunday - much less traffic and congestion. Ship service superb in every way. Ship was christened just a few months before so a few little blips in scheduling. Purser area not always on top of events/availability. CABIN - all outside rooms with a spacious balcony. My only complaint was the position of the refrigerator in the desk - eliminated drawer space. Coffee maker in the cabinet area which also reduce usable space. I would ask that the coffee maker be removed for our next cruise. Warmed floors in the bathroom - spacious shower. Light switch near the bed to allow you to turn on the bathroom light from your bed. Room always kept clean and stocked. Coffee drinks are available in several areas of the ship so a room coffee maker was not necessary. DINING - spent three nights in specialty restaurants. Now we know the pattern for these restaurants to better plan our evenings. Cuisine rotated every three days. Loved Mamsen’s for breakfast - beautiful location at the top of the ship - georgeous views. Wait in main restaurant was usually under 10 minutes. We were a group of 4 and when we found staff that clicked we requested their section every night we were there. Nice variety of dishes and very good standards available every night. PORTS/EXCURSIONS - free tour included in every port. These sometimes conflicted with the paid tours so you had to make a choice. There were several ports where we would have taken the free tour and a paid tour later in the day. Be prepared for rain in this part of the world. You learn to deal, but some visits are spoiled because of the weather. Excursions are purchased pre-cruise according to your stateroom category. Some were sold out before our turn arrived. Always check on the ship as there are cancellations.
