This was my 6th cruise (3 Celebrity, 1 Carnival, 2 NCL). We (3 older adults with mobility issues) booked a large balcony cabin (#9130) for a 7 day January cruise. The cabin is very small leaving very little walking space between the foot of the bed and the wall. One cabinmate slept on the sleep sofa which she aid was very uncomfortable. The cabin steward was average - kept the room clean but never offered ice. The ship has a strange design as all the restaurant, etc are placed from the mid to aft ship. Making for a very long walk down narrow hallways. Speaking of the hallways, they were basically clogged by housekeeping carts from 8am to 2pm and then again from 5pm to 10pm. My cabinmate found her walker basically useless as she had to fold it in order to get past these carts. Apparently, NCL has a policy that no Diet Cokes can be placed in the cabin refrigerator even though there is a $2.95/soda charge. We had the drink package and found it fairly useless as it was next to impossible to get near a bar to order a drink. We ate one dinner in the Manhatten Room - one of the daily specials was listed as encrusted trout. In fact I was served encrusted Salmon! IMO, the service was below par. We ate the majority of our meals in O'Sheehan's - great service, good food but a limited menu. However, their prime rib nights were awesome. The buffet was pretty average for a cruise ship. Though for some reason during the dinner hours only one of the two sides was open leaving to long waits. Overall, the crew was very helpful (especially recognizing our mobility issues and offering appropriate assistance). We'd planned on spending much of our time on the balcony but the bad weather (certainly NOT NCL's fault) kept that from happening. In summary, this is a very large ship with lots of bells and whistles for those who enjoy such activities. I think I'll go back to Celebrity for my next cruise.
