We were looking for the chance to see multiple cities in the Baltic Sea area, with a focus on St. Petersburg. We also wanted to try the ocean cruise experience with Viking after having been on their river cruise. While we did take some of the Viking tours, we booked with SPB for the tour of Berlin and with ALLA tours for the tour of St. Petersburg. The ALLA two day tour we took was excellent with Demitri as our guide. It was well worth the few extra dollars to have a guide to take 16 of us around. It was also nice that Viking hosted a social for all of the Cruise Critic folks to meet early in the cruise. View wise, the fjords were outstanding - find space on the back deck as you are leaving Eidfjord for great views. While there was a lot of hype for the speciality restaurants, we found that the food was just as good in the World Cafe (with the Sushi Bar being the best food on the ship in my opinion) - freshly prepared right in front of you. Overall, would definitely recommend this cruise to folks who have not spent any time in the region.
