We wanted to try the ocean cruises and the Northern Med as well. The on shore experiences were good as well. Although we liked the river cruises better as far as shore experiences. The ship on board entertainment, band & lounge experiences made up for the shore limitations due to where the ship had to dock.

We enjoy the Viking experience. We feel the service on board and the on shore itinerary are good, better on the river cruises as opposed to the ocean cruise. The majority of other people we spoke to on the ocean cruise felt similar. However we have no complaints about the ocean cruises and probably will take another.

Our next cruise will be by river in Europe, North or South America. Next Ocean? Maybe Alaska. The on board staff from the captain to the stewards are to be commended for providing such a great experience!
