We looked at all of the major cruise lines with this Rhine River itinerary and chose Viking for the price and also because of the good reviews. And we are so happy that we did! From arrival at the ship in Amsterdam (we stayed on our own in the city for a few nights before the cruise) right through checking in at the Basil airport, the service was amazing and perfect. They tend to every detail, always with a smile. You don't have to think about anything because they already have. All shore excursions were extremely well organized and right on time. The on-board staff were outgoing, friendly, and truly sincere.

The cabin was small but perfect. Plenty of storage space and the small bathroom was very efficient. Loved the heated floors in there! We had the french balcony and that was a good choice for this time of year as the weather was not good enough to sit out on a balcony anyway. Was nice to be able to open the large door though. The bed was very comfortable.

Food was great every day. The included wine with meals could have been better but there are other choices for purchase and they really do encourage you to purchase wines in port and enjoy them in the lounge and in the dining room. The wait staff remembered our names and preferences and were always open to having a conversation - so nice! Read more
