Celebrity Infinity, January 7 to 21, 2018, San Antonio, Chile to Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The Flight
We flew Air Canada direct from Toronto to Santiago, Chile overnight on January 2nd. The flight was 5 ½ hours late leaving because of operational issues and a frozen water line. Air Canada flies 6 days a week on this route and the flight technically continues on to Buenos Aires, but all passengers have to get off, go through security and line up again so it’s of no benefit to anyone going beyond Santiago. This flight and the return are almost always late. I learned that most Canadians going to South America fly Copa and connect through Panama. It’s cheaper and more reliable.
We were in a Concierge Class room on the 8th deck forward. The room was a similar size to radiance class balcony rooms but with a larger washroom and shower. There seemed to be less storage space than what were used to in Vision Class and Radiance Class ships. That being said we were able to tuck everything away. The lighting was odd as there was only the option of everything on or off with the exception of the bedside lamps. Radiance and Vision Class balcony rooms had multiple options for lighting which was really handy at night. There were two umbrellas to use as well as two bathrobes and a small set of binoculars. We had the option of a bottle of complimentary bottle of champagne which we chose not to have. There was always a few apples or oranges in the room. Each afternoon a tray with four nibbles came to the room. We mostly didn’t care for them. Each night two chocolates were on the pillows. Putra, the state room attendant, was top notch. The room was kept spotless.
