Arrived in FLL the day before and stayed at the Comfort Suites. Had read some poor reviews of this hotel (after we booked) but we found it to be clean, friendly, and convenient. Shuttle service was good, just be sure to signup the night at the time you want. Boarding had a line when we arrived at 11:30, but we were having lunch in the Lido at 12:15. Muster is easier now that you don't have to take your lifejacket. The only real problem on the entire cruise was getting back to the ship at half moon cay. One tender broke down at the dock and another was damaged trying to dock around the broken one. It was sunny, hot, and a very long line ensued. Took many over an hour to return! We had dinner every night in the Vista with the "open seating" We truly enjoy meeting different people each night and hearing of their adventures, excursions, back grounds ect. Had breakfast & lunch in the Lido...no more trays to carry your food....BUMMER At Aruba and Curacao we took private bus excursions for $20 pp. Have found these to be better value than the HAL tours. The private guides seem much more informative and colorful... The canal was the highlight of this cruise so we stayed on both ways. Would like to see more of Gatun Lake however. At Costa Rica, we did book the 4X4 off road excursion thur HAL and it was great...Eric and Jose give a wild experience....word of warning, their truck (6X6) rides rough and Costa Rica's roads are rough, so be ready for this. Enjoyed all the shows...don't miss the steel drums. The ship does seem to roll up the sidewalk at 10 O-clock. We enjoyed Bob Fetherolf and his guitar in the Crow's Nest...many night we were the only one's there!
