Traveled with children

This was our first time we had been away for christmas, the canary islands and was also our first cruise. I travelled with my wife and 2 children ( in their twenties ).

We had looked at the reviews beforehand and so we had an idea what to expect! The ship is a bit dated but didn`t really bother us that much. Our cabin although also a little dated, was always kept clean and tidy by our cabin steward ( room 7145 ). We ate at the orion five times and the other 2 nights we ate at the lido buffet. I must say that the food was very similar at both these sites. The breakfast was also a bit hit and miss. We were also all inclusive but we didn`t upgrade.

The entertainment at the broadway lounge was actually okay with one of the female singers especially having a good voice. They worked hard and put on some good shows. The comedian we had one night was also very good along with the carol service on christmas eve. We didn`t take part in any part of the daytime activities apart from the spa ( we all had a hot stone massage ). The service throughout the ship was first class and everyone always had time for a smilehink and a hello. I did think it was abit strange tough that we didn`t need our life jackets during the safety drill. We made our own way around the canary islands and madeira and so i cant comment on the tui excursions. I dont think we had much time either in any of the Islands ( maybe this is the norm on cruises )
