I have cruised on viking river and ocean cruises 7 times. I have extremely high expectations. The cruise itinerary was changed eliminating Tunisia and Algeria. We missed another stop because of bad weather. The tour to the mountain town of Erice should have been cancelled because of the dense fog which prevent any seeing and was dangerous. No one finished the tour. Those are the negatives. Here are the positives.

The ship, the staff, the food, our room, and the ambiance were wonderful. Our room was large with a great bath and more storage space than we used. We loved Mallorca, Naples, and Valencia. I thought the included tours were as good or better than the optional. We ate in the Chef’s Table twice. Delicious. Our friends really enjoyed Madsen. Frankly the food is better than any other ships.

The youngest person on the cruise was 22 and I believe the oldest was in her nineties. They both seemed to have a great time. If you are looking for casinos and outstanding entertainment do not choose Viking but if you enjoy beautiful scenery and outstanding service, see you on our next cruise river or ocean.

Cabin Review

Cabin Penthouse veranda

Our room was spacious. The steward was adequate. He was often not to be found which is unusual for this level.

Frankly any room would be fine.
