We had cruised with Royal Caribbean 15+ years ago to Alaska and the Western Caribbean (Cozumel, Caymens, Jamaica & Haiti). Both experiences were great and we really felt catered to. This cruise just didn't match that experience. Majesty of the Seas is a very old ship and it showed it in much of the decor, ship conditions and appearance. While the food was good, it did not wow us and seemed somewhat repetitive (especially in Windjammer). Our dining room staff, while friendly, did not go out of their way to remember our names (even after 5 days). But the thing that frustrated me the most was the wifi. I needed reliable and somewhat speedy wifi so I could keep up with things while gone. For $18/day, I expected the VOOM service to work well. Let's just say that it hardly worked in our stateroom (staff told me to leave the door open to get better reception - really?!), I tried several of the lounges/bars, up by the pool (staff told me it worked better the higher you went) and even in the VOOM sales area. Best download speed I could ever get was 4 Mbps. I tried downloading an app on my tablet every day for the entire trip but could never get the download to complete, but when I got to the hotel the night after we left the ship, the app loaded in under 1 minutes.
The trip was not all bad. The shows (comedians, singer/dancers) were good, the client interfacing events were fun (Newlywed game, belly flop competition) and they did show the NFL playoff football games on the big screen by the pool. Just not enough to make we want to do it again any time soon.
Cabin size is small 119 sq ft and bathroom/shower is also very small.
