We chose Carnival for this cruise for three reasons: the price, the itinerary, and the more laid back atmosphere, as our traveling companions were first time cruisers and more apt to be intimidated by a stuffy vibe.

The Glory is a lovely ship, and well maintained. Having pre-purchased FTTF (Faster To The Fun, a ridiculously inexpensive add-on when you consider the perks), we’ve never experienced a smoother embarkation or debarkation. Normally I want to down a handful of Valiums every time I get anywhere near a cruise terminal. Honestly, I wouldn’t even have had time to choke them all down. And it was nice to have access to our cabins right away.

Speaking of the cabins - I’m not sure if they’re actually larger than those on other cruise lines, or if the space is just more ergonometrically used. In any case, we had more closet, shelf, and drawer space than we even needed, which is definitely a first. Having pump containers of shampoo and body wash in the shower was definitely cool. And if I could have figured out a way to stuff it in my luggage, I probably would have stolen the bedding. Never slept better.

Lots of shelf and closet space, immaculately clean, and amazingly comfortable bed.
