Sail Date: Jan 2018
Cabin: Junior Suite

We chose this cruise for a couple of reasons. The first being that we had been on her before and had a great time. The second was the itinerary. We wanted to hit some of the further south islands, but we did not want to fly so a 10 night is the perfect answer to that.

The Serenade is recently out of dry dock and she is in really nice shape. She is shining beautifully. We did see a few older pieces of furniture in the common areas that could still use replacement, but all in all she is in great shape!

As usual, this trip was the wife and I. We have sailed other lines but pretty much stick to Royal for their customer loyalty program.

Cabin Review

Junior Suite

Cabin JS

We had booked a regular balcony, but due to price drops, we were able to get this junior suite for no extra charge.

We were first concerned about possible windjammer noise from above, but it was only an issue for a little bit in the early evening and not often. (The occasional noisy cart until 9 p.m.)You will sleep well in this room.

Port Reviews

Martinique

You could not get off at the pier and walk around. They loaded us onto shuttle buses and took us to the other pier. The ride was short though and the buses were running non stop.

St. Croix

We expected to get off and see the town a bit on this day, but the port area is not much to see. We ended up taking a half hour cab ride to where all of the action is. $10 each for each direction. Had we known this, we would have booked through the cruise line to get there and back with a tour along the way.
