My wife and I enjoy well prepared and presented food and we had heard wonderful things about Oceania's offerings so we decided to try them out for a holiday getaway.
Embarkation in Miami was quick and efficient. The ship is tastefully understated and was nicely decorated for the season. Our cabin stewardess Charissa and her assistant were terrific. They seemed representative of all the staff who by and large were very friendly, attentive and provided excellent service.
Oceania did provide some extra niceties for Christmas. Santa Claus and his helpers made an appearance Christmas morning to offer a small gift to every child aboard, and there were 50 on this sailing. They also left a small gift for each couple in every cabin.
We booked veranda cabin 9141 on the concierge level for 12 days of Caribbean R&R. The stateroom was comfortable although we both felt it was a little light on wardrobe space. The bath is nicely appointed with both a tub with a shower and a separate free standing shower stall.
We very much enjoyed the first class body care products provided. My wife always travels with her own soap, body lotion, shampoo and cream rinse because of her sensitivity to a lot of the chemical additives used in the products generally provided on cruise ships. Not so the Bulgari products Oceania uses. After trying them the first day she quite contentedly used the ship provided products exclusively the balance of the trip.
