Highlights of how I feel a few days after coming back from the cruise:
-This is NOT a family-friendly cruise line.
-The ship felt understaffed. We felt it on a daily basis.
Our cabin was OK. Nothing flashy, but all the basic things were there. Wife said that she will bring her own shampoo and conditioner next time since RCCL-provided shampoo was awful. I can tell you that the soap supplied by RCCL felt like Motel 6 soap, so I will be bringing my own soap as well if I ever sail with RCCL again. Wife really liked many mirrors in the room - it allowed her to see herself from different angles while dressing up for dinner. Lots of hangers in the closet. No bath tub, just shower.
Ship docks far away from downtown.
It was raining all day, so we just went into the port area for about 30 minutes to check it out. Very nice and safe place, spacious. Lots of shopping options.
We booked the trip in port. For $100 we got a ride around the west part of the island and trip to a small monkey zoo. For 4 adults and 2 kids it seems like a decent deal. The drive was OK. We were promised English language driver - did not get that. We were promised a drive that would cover a much larger part of the island - did not get that (but it was OK since there is really not much to see/do there). The monkey zoo visit was great but short. We had only 3 animal encounters: 2 monkeys in a cage, sloth, and parrots. All of that was fantastic and everybody came back very happy. I ventured outside gated area of the port around 3pm for a short 15-20 minute walk just to check it out - the place felt fairly safe. We also did zip line in port for $30 each - it felt expensive, but my kid really wanted to do that.
