We had a 10 day cruise on the NCL Jade, departing on the 18th Dec, sailing around the Southern Caribbean. We were away over Christmas which is really why we chose this cruise. I am a first time cruiser so I didn't know what to expect, but my expectations were exceeded! NCL Jade is a mid size ship which old approximately 2,300 guests and just over 1000 crew
Embarkation day: We arrived around noon and the queue was winding out the main doors of the terminal. This being said, the queue did move quickly. Once in, we quickly got through security and then we had another queue to stand in for about an hour and a half to finally check in. Non of this bothered me in the slightest! I was on holiday after all! I loved walking up the gang way and onto the ship - vacation had began!
Once on the ship we headed straight to O'sheeans bar on deck 8 for a well deserved first drink. An hour later we were at our muster station for the muster briefing. (The briefing literally lasted 5 minutes)
Cabins: We had an inside state room, deck 5. The cabin did exceed my expectations, nice décor, good size, plenty of storage (cases can slide under the bed!) Good TV with some good movie channels! The bathroom was very spacious and the shower was excellent! One of the best showers I've had on a vacation. Above all it was very clean, our cabin steward was called Jason and he was beyond attentive, excellent service! Room cleaned/turned down twice a day. It was so quiet too! you literally could not hear anything from above, below, left or right. The bed was super comfy! I slept so well every night!
