Before the cruise we spent two days at the Intercontinental in Isla Verde which was a great kick off to our cruise. Despite sustaining a good deal of damage from the storm, this beautiful hotel was in great shape and the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. It felt good to support the economy in San Juan before boarding the Summit for part 2 of our vacation.

The Summit is a beautiful ship, a bit older and smaller than the newer Celebrity S class Ships, but has a wonderful friendly vibe, and a great crew, starting at the top with Captain Kate.

Our cabin was a Sky Suite 6124, which featured an amazing cabin steward Adhy who was wonderful as well as Chip our butler. Together they took care of any request we had, although most before we had a chance to ask. We had most of our meals in Luminae, which was fabulous. Not one bit pretentious or stuffy and had wonderful food and excellent service. Our waiters, Kazi, and Juan Pablo and their assistants were remarkable in getting to know our tastes and preferences as well as bringing extra dishes to be shared that could not be missed (fresh pasta, scallops, etc). Our sommelier, Maggie, was extremely helpful in broadening our horizons in selecting wine we otherwise would not have tried.

Cabin Review

Sky Suite 2

Cabin S2

Spacious cabin, great closet and bathroom. Very nice layout, plenty of storage.Wonderful Cabin Steward Adhy really kept it spotless, cleaning 2-3 times a day. Helpful and friendly butler, Chip. Very good location. The deck was a bit small and located above the life boats.

Port Reviews

San Juan

We stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel pre-cruise and really enjoyed the hotel, pool and beautiful beach.

Grenada

We took the water taxi to Grand Anse Beach which was great. Beautiful water and lovely people. Very relaxing day.

St. Croix

We went to Rainbow beach by minibus and rented chairs and umbrellas. The beach was nice but crowded, and had sustained some damage from the storm causing it to lose some sand. The restaurant looked incredible as they were cutting fresh fish mahi mahi on the side the building, Smelled great, and looking forward to visiting again after St Croix recovers further from the devastating storm.
