I chose this cruise because of the 13 day itinerary. The itinerary that took us to warm and sunny places, so I could get out of COLD Ohio. There were also two ports we had never been to and wanted to see. We also wanted to see how our favorite islands were doing after the hurricane. I was excited to see how Carnival turned the Destiny into the Sunshine. I was very disappointed. Being a Platinum Member, I expected priority embarkation, because of the over 1300 guests being platinum or diamond, we were herded thru the ropes like all other cruisers. Carnival managed to squeeze more cabins on the ship while making the group areas uncomfortable. There was no seating along the Promenade deck, to people watch, read my book, or just sit and daydream. The main lounges had removable chairs that were uncomfortable and did not allow as many people in to see the entertainment. We missed two shows we wanted to see due to not enough seating. The singers and dancers were the best we have seen on any of our 24 cruises. The food was better than most of the other cruises we have taken. The crew bent over backward to see our every need was met to the best they could.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin 8A

This cabin is right under the 24 hour pizza. rolling carts, people scraping chairs, 24 hours a day. Many mechanical problems, balcony outside door rattled constantly, oil leaked down the middle of the door from the main door hinge. For a ship that was redone 3 years ago it was pitiful.
