With retirement nearing, we (my wife and I) choose this cruise to better understand the experience of 4 or 5 sea days in a row (we are considering some extended cruises in the future), as well as the experience of travelling with a group with a signficant amount of retirees. We have previously spent some time in the Islands (via air), so site seeing was not our main priority.
Princess has been our choice for cruising for some time, and this trip did not disappoint. The service, food and entertainment were a good value for the money. In fact, we found the entertainment to be noticeably more appealing than on some of our recent Princess cruises. Our one quibble was that each photograph now costs $25.00 each- which seemed high to us.
The ship was newly refurbished and we appreciated the enhancements- both in the cabin and around the ship. Some of the little touches, such as a place beside your bed to charge your iPhone, showed us that Princess really cares about staying competitive. (Note: I do own CCL common stock, and have so for many years).
