This was our third NCL cruise and while we had an enjoyable time, we discovered that cruising on such a large ship just isn't our cup of tea. For example, many of the shows got pushed into bars or the Atrium with limited seating and difficulty viewing. In contrast, on the Jade the comedy and magic shows were in the amphitheater where every seat is a good seat. Plus on the Epic, the big stage production shows cost extra whereas on the Jade the shows were included. Foot traffic in the evening was like Times Square on New Years Eve. Forget about the elevators going more than 1 floor at a time. In terms of food, we had the best dinner at Le Bistro were the servers made us feel special and the food was perfect. We had the worst dinner at La Cucina where the food was good but we were made to feel unwanted and 1 step from being asked to clear our own table. Miserable experience. The ever present happy-happy washy-washy girls ought to be trademarked by NCL. They are so pleasant and nice. We got the feeling that the ship is so big that most of the staff is stressed out. We did not get that feeling on the Sky or Jade. The cruise directors on the Jade and Sky were more prominent as well. Our stateroom stewards were impeccable. The mini-suite itself had a lot of cabinets but we preferred the layout on the Jade better. Great Stirrup Caye is exceptionally well done. If the ship docks at Falmouth Jamaica do not go to the Bamboo beach excursion. It is an hour away on a rocky beach. Instead, go to the Blue Waters Beach club which is 5 minutes away by shuttle. Very nice clean sof sand beach and fun beach club. In Grand Cayman, swimming with the stingrays is worth it and bring your GoPro. We did this with Captain Marvin. In Cozumel, the Passion Beach excursion is a beach lovers heaven. Wide soft sandy beach, open bar for most drinks and a decent buffet. The guys here went out their way to make up for a delayed deparature from the port and worked with NCL to get us back later. Great day! All in all we had a great vacation but would not sail on such a large ship again. We had a better overall cruise experience on smaller NCL ships. We will definately sail with NCL again.

Cabin Review

Family Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin M2

Curvy and clean. Lots of cabinets but no drawers. The shower could easily fit 3 people so I thought that was poor use of space.
