I contracted severe Gastric Infection while on board, day 4. I vomited all night and my wife also contracted the illness. I cannot recall the last time I was ill. I reported issue to Guest Services who referred me to Asst Maitre D Garry. He dismissed food poisoning straight away and said it was GI (Gastric Infection). I asked to see the Doctor on board and was told that if I did not have food poisoning I would have to pay $200 fee. Even though I had medical insurance I refused as the infection was caused while on board. The remedy offered was 2 bananas and a pitcher of water sent to our room. We missed the entire days activities and excursions as we were confined to bed and bathroom all night and day. An attempt to go ashore lasted 30 minutes for obvious reasons.

There is an obvious policy with Norwegian not to admit to any liability for the unhygienic conditions which caused us to get so violently ill.

Because of this we will not travel with Norwegian again.
