We had been on several cruises before - but never a luxury cruise - Boy were we in for a treat! We couldn't fault the Silver Muse - the boat was immaculate, and the staff couldn't have been more helpful , our butler Fredolito was a superman ! he seemed to anticipate our every whim and need. The on-board entertainment was great and the restaurants absolutely sublime. Going through Panama Canal was one of the highlights, but by far the best on-shore excursion was in Rio ! We had the most amazing guide - Manu Peclat who really turned this city into a magical visit. He met us at the appointed time and we went straight up to Christ the Redeemer statue, seeming to completely bypass the queues and queues of people waiting, he is a professional photographer so he captured some amazing photos for us, he then took us a historic house, an incredible (and very surprising) cathedral and also to some amazing tiled steps, and then had an authentic Brazilian lunch in the historic centre - complete with Brazil's National dish - "FEIJOADA"(the black beans stew) along with CAIPIRINHAS - the most amazing cocktail. We came away with such amazing memories of Rio and really credit Manu for the awesome experience - he went out of his way to make sure we had an awesome time
