We had little time to get away, and this trip met the time restraints. We left from Ft. Lauderdale. Check in was easy and quick.
We were happy to be in our room earlier than expected. We've been in veranda rooms on Holland America before, and despite the redo, it looked exactly the same in our room.Not sure if they focused on upgrades in the rooms, but the public areas were different.
I am not too fond of the change of the Crow's Nest, the best viewing area of the ship. When

Deluxe Ocean-View Verandah Stateroom

Veranda room. Don't get this room if you are a light sleeper. It is right below the pool deck and every morning, early, you will be awakened by the sound of deck chairs being dragged or repositioned on the the Lido deck. It didn't really bother me, but it did wake me up.
