I selected this cruise for the itinerary and timing. Some of the stops were educational in a negative sense -- history has been cruel to them -- but the ship and service were excellent, as were the local tours. I'm glad VIking is investing in the local economy of these areas!

The cruise travels "upward" in terms of economic well-being, so the final stop, Budapest, is a good shopping opportunity, as well as an interesting city to tour. I didn't take local currency with me, but I would recommend others do so. Euros and dollars are not enough, and the ship had limited ability to change currency.

The cabin was comfortable and the cabin and restaurant service were excellent. Food choices were understandably not as profuse as on the mega-ships, but the were certainly adequate and well-prepared.
