10 day cruise with only one day at sea.Great for an overview of many Islands.

We did not use the ship excursions. The Dawn is a nice ship but we miss having a terrace in thé back of thé garden cafe to eat outside. For this rreason , we prefer the Sun or thé Jade..Enough time at each port.Good service at thé restaurants.Few technical problems in our suite but Leah our concierge was vert helpfull. First time in a suite and i highly recommend it if there is 4 of you.Because we had a suite,we could have breakfast at thé Moderno but we only went twice because thé service is slow if you have an early excursion. We had supper at the Moderno,Cagneys and Teppanyaki .Food was excellent except for the Tofu sauté at the Teppanyaki.Cruise on december 28th from Porto Rico.

St-Vincent was a port replacing one damaged by the Hurricane .We do not recommend it as part of a regular itinerary.

Cabin Review

Family Suite

Cabin SJ

Really large cabin.Twice as big than a balcony cabin. When all the beds are open, still room for the table and 4 chairs and to walk around.Enough storage for 4 adults, large tv screen and the possibility to chose your movie and save your selection to continue later.

Balcony is huge with 2 long chairs with cushions ,2 regular chairs and a small table.

The outside wall is all windows +patio door. Amazing view.

Port Reviews

San Juan

Old San Juan is worh the visit.Good restaurants

Barbados

Short taxi ride to go to Carlisle bay beach.rare town where taxi drivers don’t argue with each other.Price is per person. If you decide to walk it will take you approximately 1 hour.we went to Copacabana beach bar, really close to the boatyard. For 25$us per person, you get 2 beach chairs , 1 umbrella and a 20$ credit towards food or drink.

Food was excellent and good size portion.Clean restaurant, washrooms and showers.Nicest beach of this cruise.Clear water and fine sand.Excellent for families.

Martinique

Walked arond Town. Visit the church and the market. Took a ferry 7$ return to the beach.

Ferry near cruise pier,15 minutes across. The beach was small and crowded .Fort-de-france is a nice town.

St. Thomas

Went to Maghens Bay. 5$ /pers to enter. Very hard to avoid those open air taxi. We wanted to walk away to find a regular taxi and where told we could not. They charge 8$/pers each way. They make you sit 5 per seat even if it should fit 4 adults. There is 5 or 6 rows. They drive at 50 in a 20 zone. Also ,they make you wait until that shuttle is full.Very expensive for the 4 of us to be squeeze with our beach stuff. So 64$ for the taxi and 20$ to enter. This beach is very nice beautiful bay. They already replaced the trees that were destroyed by the hurricane. Workers were fixing the buildings. There is a temporary roof, where they sell food.Very expensive. Restrooms. Very large wave, you have to be carefull Not for kids or even non swimmer adults.Lifeguard on duty.

Antigua

Took a taxi to go to the beach.

Very unpleasant to deal with with all the guys that want to offer you a taxi. They are all identify but yell at each other. Finally, took a guy that took us to a lady and then took us to a lady taxi driver. She ended up taking us to the wrong Beach.Siboney beach instead of Fort James beach. One beach restaurant Coconut grove and chair rentals. If you sit on your own pass the chairs ,be carefull ,horseback riding with 4 horses and what they leave behind them in the sand. No waves, but water not clear. Not the best Island of our cruise.Taxi dispatch should be better organized at the port. Very annoying
