I was ready for some down time but a bit concerned about cruising solo. Although I've traveled to various places around the globe on my own, being on a ship full of people who are traveling together felt somewhat daunting. Add to that a not very happy experience on another cruise line two decades ago and I was a bit concerned about whether I'd just go bonkers on a cruise, but had been thinking about it for a long time so I booked a 6-nighter.

It was about as close to perfect as a trip could get. Embarkation was a breeze and I was in Michael's club within 15 minutes of my Lyft driver dropping me off.

The room, a basic sky suite, was fabulous for one person, and would be fine for travelling with a friend.

Sky Suite 2

Cabin S2

Great space and very convenient. Yes there are life boats one deck below but 1) they in no way obstruct the view out; 2) there are worse things to look down upon than one's safety vehicle.
