To set the scene, this was our 17th Thomson/TUI/Marella cruise since 2010. We hadn't been on a Thomson cruise since autumn 2014 as we were becoming disillusioned with what was on offer (we moved away to P&O and Princess). The itinerary (featuring Cuba, Honduras, Belize and Guatemala, all new places for us) along with the newly acquired ship lured us back.

In summary we were really pleased with the cruise and it exceeded our expectations. We were in two cabins (a junior suite plus an inside) on deck 8 and for an all-inclusive cruise for four over the festive period it was excellent value for money.

The food in the sit down restaurants (at no extra cost) was far better than experienced on previous Thomson cruises. The head waiters were charming and took the opportunity to speak with us regularly.

Cabin Review

Cabin Junior Suite

Condition of cabins and public rooms was all fine. There were a couple of maintenance issues in our cabin which were fixed with no problem within a couple of hours. Clarins toiletries and a Lavazza coffee machine were included as standard in the junior suite along with bathrobes, in cabin breakfast, pillow menu and pressing of 3 items per person.
