Rc has a beautiful boat, but lacks in some major areas, compared to other lines. it is more expensive, but seems to appreciate it's guests, less. the private restaurants are outstanding, and the staff at the dining & restaurants are, as well. the buffet area is really lacking. the food presentation is not great, and neither is the taste. however, the worst aspect is the lack of direction. people wander around, like zombie's, cutting in, and out of line - to quickly grab the items they want - with no respect to anyone else waiting patiently. i would suggest they install guide rails, with entrances, and exits, to control children, and uncaring adults. also, a huge negative, is the frequently pervasive smell of cigarette smoke. it is supposed to be limited to certain areas, but you find it drifting into many others. and, there is a huge information deficit. one can't plan for the following day, until after the next day's newsletters are released, the night before. and, the website is difficult to negotiate, and to instantly go to the item one is looking for. we enjoyed the more casual approach towards disembarkation. we didn't feel thrown off the ship, like we have on some other cruises. rc should hire carnival's information people, and princess' entertainment people. the promenade is just outstanding, as were the ice skating & broadway shows - they couldn't have been much better.
Wonderful cabin!! great value, and great layout. was very near the stairs, and elevators, with easy access to the dining, and the promenade. overlooked the promenade, which contributed to a fun environment - especially since this was a new year's cruise, with christmas decorations, and balloon release. loved the seating area, with couch, and loveseat - great place for napping, and watching tv, reading, etc. great shower, with plenty of room, and little leaking of water.
