Genoa seven day Western Med 23 September 2017

Firstly i was conscious to book outside school holidays to have a more relaxing cruise. Was hesitant to book with this cruise line after reading some reviews and looking at food on You Tube. How wrong i was. Been on the Celebrity Solstice around NZ. Found the dinning room food to be sub standard. two out of ten and the Celebrity Equinox around the med seven out of ten. Overall the MSC Splendida had better food than the Celebrity cruises. The variety was amazing and the healthy food section was a big bonus. The deserts were superior to Celebrity. Boarding was easy from Genoa one of my favourite cities in Italy however the baggage collection signage was poor at the port. We found it eventually well to the West of the embarkation area.

The staff was amazing. Kept to themselves were very courteous unlike the Celebrity staff that seemed to be in your room far too often.. This is a beautiful ship around the same age as the Celebrity Solstice. Rooms and ship in general were very well maintained better than the Solstice. Few areas of worn carpet near busy door ways needed attention. Easy fix.
