In 2014, while in port I got a glimpse of RCCL's Oasis of the Seas and I said my next cruise would be that boat. Since that time, Allure & Harmony had been built. So I chose the Harmony, because of the watersides, since I have two teenagers. I really love the Fort Lauderdale embarkation. It is only a 5 minute ride from the airport, which is great when you've spent all day/night on a airplane. Our flight got to FLL at 9:45am and I believe we were on the ship by 11:30! Rooms were blocked off till after 1pm, so we ate at the Park Cafe on deck 8. The ship is mammoth! But it is visually stunning. We only ate in the Windjammer on the last day because we were forced to, we had missed brkfst in the dining room & all other places. We are not buffet people. When we finally got to our room, it was well appointed, rm 10586, an Outside Balcony Cabin. We have twins, 13 yrs old. Travel agent said this room accommodates 4, but I do not agree. We will have to have 2 different rooms next time we cruise. It was too small, for 4 adults & provided no privacy. We often used the balcony as a changing area & an extension to the cabin. I did not like the trundle style bed for kids over 6 yrs old. Cabin was pretty quiet, bed was comfortable. I like the glass shower door in the bathroom, that is much better than a curtain. There should be plugs for my clippers in the bathroom. I found it odd that I could not shave my beard in the bathroom.

On the 2nd day, I purchased WoW bands for my kids. I felt they would keep up with the band over keeping up with their cruise card. The casino is very big, split down the middle for smokers/non-smokers. I only play table games and lost every night. Our dining room was Silk, very pretty. Not really a fan of Mytime Dining, which is what we had, because it was all that was left, we booked 6 weeks before sailing. We like one waiter/server for the wk. We build a rapport with them, they find out what we like & don't like. Didn't really have that experience with MyTime Dining. Beyond the first night though, we really only waited 10 minutes max to be seated. We tend to eat in the main dining room for all meals. I will say, no particular meal really wowed me! Which shocked me, because previous RCCL cruises, the food is a "standout" for us. We still to this day, make a greek salad, we first 20 yrs ago on a RCCL ship. In talking to other guests aboard ship, the Specialty Restaurants are "outstanding". Which saddens me, you shouldn't have to pay extra for superior or "outstanding" food! We did go to Wonderland to celebrate our anniversary. It was outstanding, unique, and special.

We did not purchase the Drink Package. I really only drink beer on cruises and my wife seldom drinks. We also don't drink soda of any kind. That being said, next time we sail on the new ship being built, I will purchase a drink package. It was a hassle to me not having the package. There is a juice bar in the gym, well their prices are quite high, but if you have the package, you can get whatever. Well, I would love a protein shake following my daily workouts, but only bought one once, very inconvenient. Then at breakfast, fresh squeezed orange juice, costs $5, but included if you have the package. Then what really pissed me off, was when we got off ship to go into port and wanted 2 water bottles, just to keep in my bag, they wanted to charge me! The pool areas are very nice, I especially like to pool where the water rolls out the pool & under your lawn chair. I prefer the jacuzzi's in the solarium. They are big and 4 of them have tv's overhead, which is really nice to drink beer & watch a game. The pods in the solarium are also nice and private. Really quiet area there. The watersides are both so nice! Me and my kids loved them. I didn't get on the dry slide, but my kids did and thought it was great. None of us did the zipline. My son ice skated several times with friends he met on board.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D5

Ideal for two people. But a family of 4 is a tight squeeze! We managed, but won't do that again. Will book 2 separate cabins next time.

Port Reviews

St. Thomas

Very beautiful island, we jet-skiied at Coki Point Beach. St. Thomas is coming back!

San Juan

For having just had a hurricane, it was beautiful! We walked to the fort that was near the ship, the views from there were spectacular. All shops we went in had electricity, some had air condition. We did not eat on the island.

Labadee

We laid out & caught a tan. Sand had lots of shards from shells and was very rocky. I did not like that at all! The floating bar was cool. We did not eat on the island.
