We chose the cruise to enjoy some Winter warm sun and escape boring Christmas TV. We weren't disappointed, The ship as been refurbished since we last sailed on her,the self service looks and works a lot better. Of course like most ships two sections of the self service are now pay restaurants in the evening. Though most of our fellow passengers were either American or Canadian there was over 400 Brits onboard and on New Year's Eve they had a celebration at 8pm,( midnight uk time ) just for the Brits, then we got to celebrate again later.
The entertainment was good and suited everyone, every other ship we have sailed on from America as been lucky if they could half fill their theatre but on here the theatre was full 30 minuets before the start most evenings. The service was good and food to the usual Princess standard. We had anytime dinning and during the cruise spoke to many Americans,we were told by quite a few of them that some America passengers received a phone call from Princess shortly before the cruise offering them the 14 day Christmas cruise for under $300 and we even spoke to a couple in the theatre who had taken the deal but had to take four nightmare flights from Seatle to Fort Lauderdale to get to the ship. We spoke to the future cruise rep on the ship and asked why we didn't get those sort of deals in the UK,she said because every ship that sails from Southampton sails full, which of course is not true,we asked about Sailings from Europe but got nowhere. We enjoyed the ship, the service, the weather so good choice.
