I am a longtime cruiser on RCL. They have been my preferred cruise line for many years. But I have not sailed them for over a year. During that time I sailed on their sister line Celebrity and because of receiving a cruise certificate, I sailed on NCL.

My return to RCL was an eye opener. Embarkation went smoothly, being diamond level speeds up the procedure, it took no more than 30 minutes from the time I arrived to get on the ship. Everything went smoothly till time to go to our cabin. They were running late so it took about an hour longer than expected but we had several items to attend to once onboard so that was fine. The first problem came when we had not received our luggage by dinner. The cabin attendants had been delivering luggage all afternoon so I was not concerned till I looked out of my cabin and noticed there was no more activity in the hallways. I went to find my cabin attendant. When I located her she told me all the bags had been delivered and if mine wasn't there it must be in security. I went down there to check and searched through all the luggage they had. My bags were not there. The security guard informed me if my bags were not there they must be in the hallways somewhere so just start checking them. I did this, I started on my deck first, and just walked the hall. I located my bags sitting together in the hall on the opposite side of the ship and way down the hall. True self service. Also experienced a problem in one of the specialty dining venues. We had a disagreement on charges and when I brought to their attention, I was told by the assistant manager and then the manager that there was nothing they could do about it they had to follow policy. I then asked to speak to the food service manager and was told he could not come. I then asked that he tell me where I could go to speak to him. At that point I was told he was on his way. When he arrived we resolved the problem. Not the customer service I expect from RCL. At disembarkation they misplaced one of my bags which resulted in additional delay while trying to locate it. Once again it was in the wrong place.
