We chose this cruise because our family usually does a family vacation in the summer and couldn't this year. So, we chose to cruise at this time of year so family could be free, and the location of cruise. The experience was very good; cabin was comfortable, always clean and maintained excellently by our porter. Dining was a good experience, of course. We had no problem finding food we liked and the waiters were always available to help with whatever was needed. We didn't partake of all the activities. Did a couple evening shows and one shore excursion. For me, sometimes there is too much "rah rah" as I enjoy more of a relaxed experience. So, I found spaces where I could have that easily and where we as a family could play games. Not a problem. Others seemed to be enjoying the activities which seemed very creative. Embarkation and disembarkation was very smooth. Great organization in this process. We don't have expectations to take another cruise. It is not my favorite type of vacation. I find myself getting bored a bit because I don't especially enjoy many of the typical cruise activities. I would have enjoyed having speakers talk about the ports of call.....culture, history, customs, etc. rather than just the shopping opportunities. We thoroughly enjoyed going to the museum on Grand Cayman as it gave us a feel for the area. Likewise, we took the shuttle to town on Costa Maya and all of us enjoyed that much better than the area just off the ship which was way too commercialized. Town was more real and not commercialized as much. Still, overall, we were very pleased with the entire cruise. Thanks for the opportunity to provide feedback. Pleasing so many people with different preferences is impossible to do.

One final thought. I saw that all the ship's crew were working very hard to make the experience a good one for people. They were always friendly and pleasant. I had 3 of them tell me that we would get this opportunity to evaluate the cruise. They seemed to feel pressure that they be mentioned by name in the evaluation in order for them to be rewarded for their hard work. I personally believe this is a misguided practice, if their reward is based on having their names mentioned, because they all seemed to be working very hard. It would be discouraging if they worked hard and just because people, like me, might not know all the names and didn't specifically mention them.

Cabin F

Not sure what our category was. We had a window (nice). The cabin was very comfortable with the right amount of space and storage. It was kept in excellent shape by our porter. We appreciated that he did not change towels unless we requested as we try to be sensitive to water conservation at home too. Glad to see that being done.
