This cruise was our first time sailing longer than 7 nights, and was our first experience on a Radiance Class ship. We had a great cruise, but some plumbing problems made our experience less than perfect.

We began this vacation by staying 2 nights at the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego. This hotel was booked at DW's request. I do not recommend this hotel. The staff was great, but the rooms were odd, and the clientele were very pretentious and rude. There is only a glass, swinging door to the toilet in the room. The glass is frosted, but you can still see the person sitting on the toilet through it. Plus, the door does not hinge closed, nor does it lock.

On November 30, 2009, we boarded the Radiance for 11 nights. San Diego port is a nightmare. There were 2 ships in port and everyone had to enter from the street through one small entryway. You do not give your bags to the porter until you enter the lounge area, so numerous people trying to enter the facility through one gate with all their luggage was not pleasant. Once inside, it was not bad. There were no issues with the previous debarkation, so we began boarding at exactly 11:00 am.
