Our trip started bad when we arrived on the bus in Trieste and the MSC employees did nothing to help a bunch of older people with their luggage. The sidewalk was not smooth so the wheels on the suitcases did not roll. We were allowed two suitcases each and some hand luggage. When entering the building I tripped on a piece of carpet that was bubbling up and fell onto my knees. After two hip surgeries that was not really pleasant. But I went on the ship anyhow since we planned this for a long time.

Something not understandable was the fact……NO SWIMVESTS in the room. We were notified that we hat to go from the 12th floor to the 7th floor - to the theatre to get our vests in an emergency…SOMEBODY EXPLAIN THAT TO ME…..a fire breaks out… half of the ship goes under and I have to go 5 floors to get a swim vest. HELP!!!!

Good 1/3 of the ships front was closed for “normal” passengers and reserved for the upper 1%... yeah I am trying to be funny…so if you wanted to get to the top of the ship that had all the fun stuff - you had to go to one floor with the elevator then down the steps to the other floors to bypass the VIP area for the Yacht club and back to the front over more steps etc etc… to find the pools and extra entertainment. Come to think of it most of the places/bars/cafes were closed in the early evening.. never seen anybody but the smokers sitting outside of the places…. But then we were sick most of the cruise and maybe in the warmer weather they were open.

Cabin Review

Our Room stewart was good and cleaned to our satisfactory. Cabin was to small for a Balcony that is much more expensive than window view. It was actually smaller. Bathroom was clean but very small. If somebody is a bit on the heavier side they will have a problem. Balcony had very uncomfortable chairs. Closet is tiny for two people and hard to get too.
