Norwegian Escape Cruise Review by tkweidenfeld
- Sail Date: December 2017
- Destination: Western Caribbean
- Cabin Type: Balcony Stateroom
The highlight of the ship was definitely the food. Compared to other cruise lines, NCL's food was very good and we enjoyed the freestyle dining. With that being said, the service was very slow. Each dinner was a minimum of 2 hours. The shows were also very entertaining and well done. Our kids loved the teen club, slides and ropes course.
The design of the ship was terrible. The atrium where the customer service area is located is also the same area where they do the game shows and entertainment. They always ran out of seating, and it was a mob scene. You could not communicate with customer service because of the noise. In most cases, you did not want to hear what they had to say since they were rude. It appeared as though they were doing you a favor just by answering questions.
The ship bars close at midnight except for the overcrowded nightclubs where you had to fight to get a drink and the casino. They do not open adjoined balconies so DON'T ASK! They do not play college football games, so if this is important, look elsewhere. The ship is crowded and the gym is super small. Lastly, if you get the drink package, this does not include bottled water.
There are many things that NCL should look into on this ship to make it more enjoyable for the guests.
