We wanted to go to Machu Pichuu, and the the tour company who handled this 72 hour excursion was wonderful--pricey but worth it. I wish I could say that about the rest of the cruise.
My husband and I have been on 60+ cruises between us, from the high end (Regent, Oceana, Asimar) to the low end (Carnival). This was our first (and last) Princess cruise. Some of the reasons include: mediocre food (my generous description, my husband called it terrible. Cheap, tough with grissle cuts of meat, dinners and soup served cold (had to be sent back 3-4 times).Soups were mostly broth with barely visible pieces of vegetables. (Once they had wonton soup and all four of us at the table had zero wontons in our bowl of soup. Don't know if they were never there or others fished out all the wontons. Once I told the server the olive oil bottle was empty. He just removed it without replacing it with a full one. When the nut bowls at breakfast were emptied, they were not replaced.
We got mixed messages from staff at the service desk, and once they said they would get back to us and never did. At one point, they couldn't find our passports.
We had a room with a balcony midship. (Don't know the letter.) The only complaint I have about the room is the lighting in the bathroom was so dim it was hard to put on makeup. (Our room stewards were good.)
