My mother, niece, and I stayed in cabin 14832 which was roomy for three people. We had two twin beds and the couch made into a bed. There were a few cans of beer and bottles of alcohol in the refrigerator but no mixers. When I asked the room Stewart to bring 7-Up so that we could have a drink in the room, she told me we would have to go to the bar and get it ourselves.
This was the first time I cruised on the Escape but if you have been on the Getaway or other big NCL ships, it is basically the same. We took a seven day Western Caribbean from Miami.
I have been cruising with NCL since 2010. My family and I have cruised together with NCL every year since, sometimes twice a year. I would have to say that the Escape was the worse. It was the first time I had the drink package and I believe this is something fairly recent with NCL as far as adding it as a cruise incentive. I also received the specialty dining package as part of the incentive.
Roomy. Beer and alcohol in refrigerator but no mixers. Room Stewart said we would have to go to the bar if we wanted a 7-up.
Small beach. Overcrowded. Super long walk to the port. Long lines to take the mini bus back to the ship.
Shop owners were super aggressive and WAAAAAAY overpriced. In one store the salesman got made at me because he didn't like my offer for what I was trying to buy. He clicked his tongue at me and waved me off with his hand and then turned to another employee and cursed me in Spanish. I understood every word he said! Same thing happened to my mother in another store. I guess these people don't know that some white people know and speak Spanish too.
