My husband and I have taken many cruises on Carnival, the ship its self was what we excepted, but the trip over and back from Long beach was not what we excepted. It was cold and windy couldn't be on our balcony without a jacket, give me the Caribbean. The entertainment was great but days at sea and no sun was tuff. The food was nothing to write home about except the Pizza and Sushi. Sushi was worth the extra price. The stake house was worth the $35 price tag, was disappointed we thought that we would get a free bottle of win on the first or second day some how I read it wrong the free bottle was only offered on the first night of sailing we went the second night but it was still a great value. Service was great in all aspects of the ship, we did find the Alchemy Bar not as friendly as we have on other ships.
The first two ports of call were disappointing, we docked in a shipping yard with nothing abound took an execution to a beach on both days, both beaches great, but the ship didn't leave until 11:00 P.M. and there wasn't much to do. We did take a Free Shuttle to Walmart, it was a $30 fee for a cab so we took the shuttle and walked around down town Honolulu, we found a bar called the Floating Pagoda it was great. The third island had a beach right by the ship it was great the same with Kona the beach is right by the ship and it was amazing. If you like to sunbath on your days a sea don't take this cruise. I probably will never go to Hawaii again by ship but it was a trip to remember.
Cabin was fine but spending the exrta money for a balconey that you can use was a wast.
booked a tour on line took an out rigger and then relaxed on the beach with two chairs and unbrella . Beach was right by the ship you can't miss it.
Beach right by the ship Free shuttle paid for two chairs and unbrella $45 shoping right near by it was great
