We had not sailed on the Jade before but was our 12th on NCL due to their being a solid value line.

First the itinerary change due to Irma took us to the ABC islands of Aruba, BonAire and Curacao, a winning combination, as well as Jamaica and Grand Cayman. Aruba was clearly the touristyist of the lot, if you want to shop.

The Jade itself had just had a major overall done a few months earlier that showed. Public space venues were chic, bright and clean. Cabins appeared to be an afterthought, though. On the 10th floor were we were located, our cabin had a drawer face that fell off upon our first pull on arrival. it was obvious upon inspection that multiple stripped out holes had indicated many previous repairs. The light above my bed flickered for the entire 10 day cruise and unceremoniously went completely dim on the last night of the cruise as I was attempting to pack up. NCL did repair the drawer face on the second day of the cruise without having to be asked (kudos) but it was sad that the repair guy did not address the light problem right away as well, since it was rather obvious.

Nice update to flatpanel TV in cabin. Care and attention to maintenance issues was a mixed bag. Drawer face that fell off first day of cruise was repaired by second day without asking. Flickering light over bed remained throughout the cruise till it died on the final night of the cruise.
