My family of 5 (2 adult children, sr mother, self and friend) had to change our original itinerary due to Hurricane Maria- no problem! We received a 25% discount to rebook so decided on the balcony and still received a partial refund (2 rooms). Embarkation was quick and we were allowed in our rooms by 1pm, sail and sign card was in mailbox- very simplistic. Since we came from Oregon and 40 degrees we were really wanting our belongings so I rummaged through the hallway and delivered our own suitcases. (Later that day another persons luggage ended up in our kids room so they delivered it to the correct person).
Our room steward was Novi and he was very good. We decided we wanted evening room service and it really was sufficient. Past cruises we had twice daily room service and I was concerned this cutback would be bad but it really was not. Since we had a balcony we did use room service several times for AM coffee- never for a meal though.
We had joined a group before the sailing so we met with many other cruisers we had already "met online" which was really nice! The sail away party really lacked enthusiasm, the decor of the ship was tacky in my opinion. The coffee shop had good service and yummy treats.Bars were quick service, casino, bingo, arcade all were good experiences.
Clean and perfect in every way- my only request would be for Carnival to invest in pneumatic door closers- I got real tired of slamming doors!
