Getting on the ship was extremely easy as a Platinum Member. The health document was done electronically and the photo was taken off of the Passport. We went right through security and to the VIFP lounge. Soon we were taken upstairs and onto the ship.

If it was not for being Christmas, the lobby is probably the most boring I have ever seen. There is no open lobby to the top deck and no glass elevators. Really nothing going on except for the cool giant martini glass with the changing themes. However, it was Christmas and the lobby was beautifully decorated and there was a ton of activity in the lobby every day and night.

We had a Havana Cabana room on deck 5, 5231. You pay good money for the Havana Cabana Experience. Like a lot of things with Carnival they state there are rules and then they are never enforced. Well, I have a problem with that when I'm paying for something and then others are getting the same thing for free. The staff in this area was not very well trained in the "experience." There is a separate swipe card for these rooms to get in and out of your sliding glass door to the patio and to gain access to the deck 5 area from exterior mid ship. The crew acted like I had stolen these cards, did not know what they were for and advised me to go to the guest services desk. After talking with several neighbors I was instructed on how they worked. During the day only Havana Cabana Guests are allowed in the aft area. Well, there was always someone looking on how to get out of the area, people with kids wandering in and people showing up to lounge and use the hot tubs. I say do it once and save your money.

Cabin Review

Havana Cabana (Balcony)

Cabin HE

We had a Havana Cabana room on deck 5, 5213. The room was very nice and the patio area was pretty cool with the seating area and fence. You really got to get to know your neighbors. There is an annoying rattle in the window/sliding door that would have kept me up all night if I had not brought my ear plugs. There is occasional debris from the balcony rooms above on the patio. The access to the Havana Aft area is a good deal. However, you pay extra to have this area to yourself and people that did not pay to use this area were constantly there. People were issued I.D. bracelets and did not wear them. The doors on the deck were suppose to be locked during the day and accessed by Havana Cabana swipe cards only, but they were never locked. Not sure if I would pay the price again, but it was kind of cool to do it once.
