Cons: Cruise had 4 days anchored (I'm not counting Ensanada, as the boat was only there for 4 hours) and 10 days at sea. Which made the MANY days at sea kind of boring. Upon accepting my luggage, the Porter asked for a tip and insinuated problems with my luggage might arise if I failed to do so. Huge turnoff. The anytime dinning restaurant was OK ... But, not as exceptional as other cruises I have been on. There was a flood in the port side buffet area shortly after the cruise started. And that resulted in the Starboard side buffet being overly crowded, ever meal. And to make matter worse, my stateroom was on the level below the flood. So water leaked into my room for two days. The platinum photography studio was good, but way overpriced ($640 for 3 small prints). Why can't a cruise ship that docks out of San Francisco show 49er games? What they showed was football games from the teams on the other side of the country, that people living on the West Coast, could care less about. EVERY enrichment activity was a come-on to buy their health products.
Pros: The maid and waiters were exceptionally good. As was were the stage acts. Especially the magic act by Alex Ramon. The formal night photographers were very good as well. I ended up buying the complete package of everything they shot.
The safe was a nice touch. But, carpet was stained and dirty to start with. The fact that water slowly leaked into my room for two days because of a flood on the deck above me kind of ruined things for me. No compensation was offered.
Just sat by the beach and shopped at this port
From past experience, I knew Ensenada was not all that great. With only 4 hours available, I stayed on the boat. On the upside, I had the hot tub all to myself as I drank a beer and watched a football game being played on the big screen. Too bad it wasn't a 49 game.
